We are a professional theatre company that exists to tell women's stories. We seek to provide women with opportunities to work in all aspects of the creation of exceptional theatre.
Mission
To bring women's stories to life on stage.
To cultivate a community of female artists who create exceptional live theatre.
To do so with a fierce commitment to creativity and a radical sense of care.
To employ women in all aspects of the creation of theatre- from page to stage- connecting with women locally and provincially, across Canada and the world.
To collaborate with other local theatres. To share resources and ideas. To lift them up. Because more art is a win for our community. And there is space for all of it.

One’s Own Theatre Ltd., in collaboration with Big Apple Productions, brings Louisa May Alcott’s beloved story to life in Little Women: The Broadway Musical, featuring a soaring Broadway score, exceptional local talent and all the warmth, humour and heart of the March family at Vernon’s historic Powerhouse Theatre.
This is the acclaimed Broadway musical, not a traditional stage adaptation of the novel: an expansive, funny, romantic and deeply moving theatrical experience following the fiercely imaginative Jo March and her sisters Meg, Beth and Amy as they navigate family, first love, loss, ambition and the sometimes painful business of growing up. At its heart is Jo’s determination to become a writer and to find her own place in a world that has very definite ideas about who a young woman ought to be.
